THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – Fresh off their 3-2 win against the Nipissing Lakers, the Lakehead Thunderwolves women’s volleyball team will be hitting the court one more time before the fall semester exam break when they host the Queen’s Gaels this Saturday, Nov. 23.

After coming out on top of the 3-2 thriller last Saturday, the Thunderwolves have improved their win-loss record to 1-6.
“This is our final game of the first semester and we are looking to build off the momentum that we have built all semester,” said head coach Craig Barclay.
“Queens is a good team with a lot of firepower. They run a fast offence and serve very well. We will be looking to force them to run a higher, slower offence to slow them down.”
The Gaels have gone 3-3 during their conference play so far this season, most recently defeating the Trent Excaliburs 3-0. Leading the Gaels is Arielle Palermo, who has recorded 58 kills so far this season, averaging 2.76 kills per set.
“We will be looking for our team to keep the same resilience that we have shown we are capable of all semester and try to finish the semester in a very positive manner,” said Barclay.
The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Saturday.
