Police Release Marina Park Scene

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police Service has released the scene officers held at Marina Park since Thursday.

Officers were originally dispatched to an area of the park shortly after 11 am on Thursday, October 10, 2019, after a passerby became concerned after locating what appeared to be a piece of a human appendage.

No injured person appeared to be in the immediate area.

Officers contained the scene in an effort to conduct a search for a person who might be injured and in need of medical attention. Those searches have concluded and no injured person or person in distress was located.

Officers have also been investigating the circumstances surrounding the apparent incident.

No further details about the body part located are being released at this time in an effort to help investigators better assess the quality of tips they are receiving about this investigation.

The Thunder Bay Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation and patience during this time.
