With respect to a recent announcement regarding the 2019 Ribfest event, the Waterfront District BIA would like to clarify that the organization will not be hosting nor affiliated with Ribfest this year.

Held in the downtown Waterfront District since 2012, the 2019 Ribfest event will instead be held by Our Kids Count at the CLE grounds.

After seven years of hosting Ribfest, and over $150,000 raised for local charities, the Waterfront District BIA will be focusing its efforts on planning a new event for the summer of 2020.

Jim Comuzzi, Chair of the Waterfront District BIA, says, “We are proud to have brought such a successful fundraising event to the area, and we wish Our Kids Count every success in moving forward with Ribfest. The Waterfront District BIA will continue to support other events and activities in the district throughout the summer including the Craft Revival, BrewHa, Live on the Waterfront, and so much more. The organization also looks forward to announcing a new signature Waterfront event for August 2020 to assist local charities and highlight local, Member businesses as the places to stop, dine, play, stay, and do business.”

Founded in 1981, the Waterfront District BIA is a not-for-profit association of property owners and businesses in Thunder Bay’s downtown northcore dedicated to facilitating a vibrant, diverse, mixed-use environment.
