Second Suspect Arrested in Murder of Tanya Andy

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have made a second arrest in the beating death of Tanya ANDY.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers arrested a second suspect, a male in the evening hours of Friday, March 22.

Police report that on the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 19, officers responded to reports of an unresponsive woman on a bike path in the County Fair area. A passerby had called 911 after seeing the body on a path.

The woman was identified as Tanya following a post-mortem examination.

On Wednesday, March 20, as the result of the ongoing investigation, Ashley Mary POTSON, 32, of Thunder Bay was charged with Second-Degree Murder, and two counts of Failing to Comply with Condition Recognizance.

Further investigation led officers to identify a second accused.

Patrick James MENSON, 29, of Thunder Bay, is now charged with Second-Degree Murder and Probation Order Non-Compliance.

MENSON appeared in court Saturday morning and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date of April 4.
