One Dead in Downtown Kenora Fire

KENORA – The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fire that engulfed a building in downtown Kenora today.

On Sunday, March 17, 2019 at approximately 11:50 am the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a building on fire, in the 100 block on Main Street South in the down town core.

Police arrived on scene shortly after, along with Kenora Fire and Ambulance. A single deceased male was located inside the structure.

No other victims are known at this point and details will be made available as they come in. People are asked to avoid the area to help prevent traffic congestion as crews will be on scene for an undetermined amount of time.

The Fire Marshall will be attending the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The investigation is continuing.
