Jonathan Yellowhead Charged in Braiden Jacob’s Death

THUNDER BAY – Jonathan Yellowhead, a twenty-two-year-old man has been charged in the death of Braiden Jacob. Yellowhead appeared in court by video this morning for a brief appearance.

In addition to the second-degree homicide charge, Yellowhead has also been charged with a breach of conditions. Jonathan Yellowhead is a resident of Fort Hope. He was arrested with the assistance of Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

He has been remanded in custody with a court date of, December 19, 2018, where he will appear via video court from the Thunder Bay District Jail.

On Sunday, December 9 shortly after 11:30 am officers were dispatched to the southern portion of Chapples Park after a passerby saw what they believed to be a body.

A post-mortem examination took place in Toronto on Thursday, December 13. The results of the examination confirmed the body discovered was that of Braiden, who had been reported missing earlier.
