THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Thunder Bay could receive up to 50m of rain as a low-pressure system works through the region.

  • City of Thunder Bay

Rain at times heavy is expected today and tonight as a strong low-pressure system approaches the area.

Total amounts approaching 50 mm are possible by the time the precipitation tapers off on Thursday. The rain will likely become mixed with snow overnight or Thursday morning, but accumulations are expected to be minimal.

Please note that freezing rain warnings are in effect for regions inland from Lake Superior where temperatures will likely be close to the freezing mark. A messy mix of freezing rain and ice pellets is likely in these areas today and tonight with hazardous travelling conditions.
