Collision on 11/17 and Twin City Crossroads Results in Charges

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

THUNDER BAY – The Ontario Provincial Police report that on June 10, 2018, at approximately 7:51 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 11/17 and Twin City Crossroads.

A red Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was southbound on Twin City Crossroad when the driver approached the intersection and then proceeded into the path of a white SUV that was eastbound on Highway 11/17. The red SUV collided with the white SUV. The red SUV came to rest upon its roof.

The driver and occupant of the red SUV reported no injuries. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The female driver of the white SUV was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The two other occupants were not injured. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The driver of the red SUV was charged with Fail to Yield to Through Traffic contrary to section 136(1)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act.
