VICTORIA CITY – Eyes open wide and hearts skip a beat whenever the name Victoria City gets a mention. Why you ask and with good reason. It is the dream child of Masen Al Sawwaf and business associates and is slated to be fully operational during the early summer of 2018. Expectations run high and it has since been four years under construction. Mazen Al Sawwaf took note of an amazing social experiment that took hold in various parts of the world and has since flourished. With this firmly in mind, he decided that this was a unique business opportunity that he simply could not pass up. This much-awaited project has a layout of three sections identified as A, B, and C. Area A is located near the forest and is the sector designated for those who can afford it. Sector B will contain an assortment of shops, offices and other public buildings and is the designated commercial site. Sector C was designed with the collaboration of the government to provide reasonable housing for low-income families on a section of the site and the provision of support to populate and maintain the buildings. Parts of the development are already inhabited by schools operational and stores open for business. There are still sections that are available for purchase for a real estate entrepreneur or private developer for their own individual projects. Tourism was also a point of consideration and a health resort in the works that would provide a wide range of treatments at an optimal location, Bouskoura.
