Bantam Kings blanked by strong Rink Academy squad

WINNIPEG, Man. – The Thunder Bay Bantam Kings dropped a second straight contest to a strong Rink Hockey Academy Nationals prep school squad falling 8-0 in a match-up played Saturday in Winnipeg, Man.

Owen Weihs and Eric Alarie paced the Rink Academy side with four-point games each, including a pair of goals apiece.

The Nationals led 2-0 after one period and 3-0 after two before putting the game away with five markers in the final frame.

Thunder Bay was outshot 37-21 with Kings’ netminder Gage Stewart suffering the setback between the pipes.

The two teams will wrap-up their three-game series Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m. back in Winnipeg.
