THUNDER BAY – Cold weather conditions presented challenges to Thunder Bay Fire Rescue over the past twenty-four hours.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to multiple structural fire calls over the past day.

A garage fire at 555 Empire Ave. resulted in moderate damage to the garage.

Smouldering couch cushions in an apartment on Tupper St. filled the 6 unit building with smoke.

A 10 X 10 shed was destroyed by fire at 2584 Broadway Ave. also catching nearby trees on fire.

The fourth response turned out to be a false alarm.

All fires were quickly extinguished by responding crews, no injuries were reported. Crews did face some challenging conditions due to the cold temperatures.
