Stolen Car Recovered by Dryden OPP

DRYDEN, ON – Crime – On December 30, 2017, Dryden Police Service requested Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assist in locating a stolen motor vehicle from the City of Dryden.

Shortly after the request for assistance, a Dryden OPP Officer observed the stolen motor vehicle and confirmed the suspect vehicle description headed eastbound on Highway 17. This suspect vehicle attempted to evade police and turned off Highway 17 in Melgund Township.

The suspect vehicle continued on Melgund backroads, until finding a dead end. Officers arrested the male driver and female passenger of this stolen vehicle. As a result of the quick apprehension and arrests, the stolen motor vehicle was recovered without damage.

Charged with the following offenses are:

Robby NOEL, 44 years of age of Ingersoll, Ontario:

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Whitney ROTH 28 years of age of Woodstock, Ontario:

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

– Fail to comply with a Probation order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Both Robby NOEL and Whitney ROTH were held in custody and appeared in Sioux Lookout and Dryden Courts respectively on January 2, 2018.
