Kenora OPP Lay Impaired Driving Charges Following Accident

Thunder Bay Police laid impaired driving charges

KENORA, ON – Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a man from Washagamis Bay, ON for impaired driving.

On Friday, August 25, 2017, shortly after 3:00AM CDT, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Rush Bay Road.

Upon speaking to the driver, police determined he had been consuming alcohol and arrested him at the scene. He and the female passenger were transported via ambulance and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, forty-four-year-old Carl PAYPOM has been charged with Impaired Driving contrary to section 253(1)(a)of the Criminal Code (CC) and Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b)CC.

He is to appear in Kenora Court on October 4, 2017 to answer to the charges.
