St. Pierre-Jolys – On May 24, 2017, at approximately 11:55 pm, an officer with the St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP was conducting a patrol on Highway 75 when he observed a pickup truck in the ditch at the intersection of Highway 75 and Provincial Road 210.

The officer located the driver of the pickup truck, who had been ejected, lying unconscious on the roadway and began administering CPR while waiting for EMS to arrive.

Early investigation has revealed the northbound pickup truck was attempting to turn eastbound onto PR 210 and as a result of excessive speed, lost control and rolled into the ditch. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.

The 26-year-old male driver from Ste. Agathe was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers from the St. Pierre-Jolys Detachment, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
