THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Staal Foundation Open presented by Tbaytel officially released the final roster of celebrities attending this year’s event. The list includes NHL Hall of Famers, past and present NHLers, a prominent NHL agent, TSN personalities, the Staal brothers and Thunder Bay local sports legends.
“The Staal Foundation Open is thrilled with those that are attending the event this year and the roster continues to demonstrate that this is a world-class sporting event. Having attracted these sports legends including Bobby Orr and Grant Fuhr, we know that spectators and fans are in for quite the show;” says Staal Foundation Open Executive Director Scott Smith. “Where else would you see these celebrities face-off for a road hockey game? It’s going to be epic.”
“It’s amazing to see who is coming out for the event this year to support our hometown. Some of these guys are hockey legends who we looked up to growing up and influenced our game. It’s pretty neat to have them volunteer their time and play for a great cause;” says Marc Staal.
Spectators will have the opportunity to watch the celebrities in action during the Pandora Intercity Summer Classic and Porter Celebrity Pro-Am, both taking place at Whitewater Golf Club on Monday July 11th, 2016.
