Spruce River Road Closed for Repairs After Flooding

THUNDER BAY – ROADS – Shuniah Fire and Emergency report, “Due to damages sustained during the recent rain event, Spruce River Road will be closed for repairs.  The roadway will be closed from Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 9:00am to Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 6:00pm.”

The road will be closed to all traffic with the exception of local traffic accessing KOA Campground via Highway 11/17.  There will be no access to or from Lakeshore Drive for the entire time of the road closure.

Across the region, the storm impacted roadways. Kenora and O’Connor Township have declared States of Emergency as a result of flooding impacting the communities.

Basements across Thunder Bay were flooded with the City of Thunder Bay receiving well over two hundred calls for help from residents.
