THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – THUNDER BAY POLICE have now confirmed that the victim in this assault has not survived the attack. Larissa Charlie-Stillway, a twenty-two-year old woman has died from her injuries.

There is no word yet on upgrading charges against Cruz Nicholas Pelletier who remains in custody. Thunder Bay Police advise the death is being investigated as a homicide

Cruz Nicholas Pelletier from Fort William First Nation is in custody charged with Aggravated Assault over what Thunder Bay Police state is a very serious attack on a young woman. Pelletier appeared in court in Thunder Bay this morning and has been remanded in custody.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning at the Totem Trailer Park and as of this morning Thunder Bay Police were still on site and the area was still taped off with crime scene tape.

Fort William First Nation community members are in shock over the incident and the viciousness of the assault.

The latest from Thunder Bay Police is that the victim of the attack remains in critical condition in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
