OPP Re-Open Homicide Investigation in Manitouwadge

OPP Ontario Provincial PoliceMANITOUWADGE – NEWS – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Forensic Identification Unit and OPP Crime Unit personnel under the direction of Detective Inspector Peter Loree of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have re-opened the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Catherine Elizabeth Gowan.

Homicide Investigation of 25 Year Old Death

The death of Catherine Elizabeth Gowan happened in 1990, the OPP have new information that will let them continue the investigation. There is no release of that information as it would likely compromise the ongoing police investigation.

In a media statement issued by the OPP, “The victim was located in a residence on Adjala Avenue in Manitouwadge on July 8, 1990 and foul play was not suspected at that time. As a result of information received by police, the matter is now being investigated as a homicide.”
