While many may think that the task of being a Band Councillor is a matter of sitting down at the Council meetings, speaking with Council members at FWFN on Wednesday, they shared it is a lot more than that. Keeping up-to-date on all of the issues before council takes time to prepare.

“You should see my couch on a Saturday,” one Councillor shared. All of the paperwork needed to be reviewed takes time. Additionally Councillors get inquiries from community members, and have to be able to respond.

Fort William First Nation will be hosting the Inauguration Ceremony for the New Chief and the Council on Saturday April 18, 2015.
