THUNDER BAY – Tbaytel is pleased to provide its customers with the next step in the evolution of wireless technology with the introduction of its new 4G LTE network in Thunder Bay.

A data network with significantly faster data speeds than traditional 4G HSPA technology, Tbaytel’s LTE network provides users with faster upload and download rates, reduced latency and an improved overall browsing experience. The LTE network also works in tandem with Tbaytel’s HSPA network so customers on both networks will benefit from improved performance and reliability.

“Tbaytel has always remained committed to offering our customers the very best telecommunications solutions available and we are thrilled to now be delivering on our promise to take care of the neighbourhood we serve by delivering 4G LTE service,” says Tbaytel president and CEO Dan Topatigh. “We also offer the latest and greatest LTE smartphones and a variety of exceptionally priced rate plans that support both data and voice services to meet all our customers’ needs.”

Existing Tbaytel Mobility customers with an LTE smartphone can easily join the 4G LTE network by replacing their existing HSPA SIM card with a new LTE card. Available from Tbaytel’s retail store (959 Fort William Rd.) or any authorized dealer in Thunder Bay, customers will receive their first LTE SIM card free of charge to start experiencing all the benefits that LTE has to offer.

“We know that the way our customers interact with their mobile devices and utilize their wireless service is constantly changing, which is why we want to make it as easy as possible for them to join Tbaytel’s LTE network,” adds Topatigh. “We have plans to expand our LTE footprint into additional major northwestern Ontario markets in the coming months so more of our customers will be able to experience the difference LTE makes in their own backyards.”

New LTE SIM cards will be available at all authorized Tbaytel dealer locations throughout northern Ontario in late April 2015. Customers who reside outside of Tbaytel’s LTE network can access LTE service when visiting Thunder Bay or while roaming on the Rogers network.
