MANITOUWADGE, ON – The ground search portion of the search for Mr. Jeffrey Darrah has been temporarily suspended. The OPP continues to investigate his whereabouts. Mr. Darrah was reported missing on Monday March 9th.

Jeffrey DARRAH is a 50 year old male described as:

  • Six feet (183cm) tall
  • 170lbs (77kg)
  • Grey/white short hair
  • Clean shaven (usually)
  • Green eyes
  • Was wearing dark colored parka and blue jeans
  • Dog described as a large dark coloured Rottweiler

Earlier OPP reported “On Monday March 9, 2015, off duty officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Manitouwadge detachment were operating their personal snowmobiles on Camp 60 Road south of Manitouwadge. The officers found an injured Rottweiler dog on the snowmobile trail and recognized the dog as belonging to a local resident, Jeffrey Darrah.”

On duty officers were contacted to check on the well-being of Mr. Darrah. A family member as well as a friend was contacted regarding Mr. Darrah. Information received stated that Mr. Darrah had not been seen since Friday March 6 between 9:00-9:30AM.

Mr. Darrah was later reported being seen walking with his dog south of Manitouwadge near Friends Coffee Shop on highway 614 at approximately 11:00AM on Friday March 6.

Police are asking anyone with any information regarding Mr. Darrah or his dog, such as possibly seeing or picking up a hitchhiker in the area are asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122
