EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Manshield Construction bantam A Queens wrapped up play Saturday at the Prelude to the Playoffs tournament in Eden Prairie, Minn., with a pair of defeats.

Thunder Bay was blanked 5-0 by a strong Edina Hornets side in their first game of the day before dropping a hard-fought 3-2 decision to the Rochester Vipers in their finale.

They trailed by a pair after two periods vs. Edina before the Hornets stung the Queens for three goals in the third to complete the victory.

Samantha Stubbs suffered the setback in net.

Against Rochester, Thunder Bay opened the scoring midway through the first as MacKenzie Christie set-up MacKenzie Lehto for the initial tally of the contest.

The Vipers struck shorthanded to tie it with 5:43 to go in the period and then added another a couple minutes later.

The Queens battled back to knot the score before the frame was complete on Jillian D’Angelo marker.

Rochester notched the game-winner with eight and a half minutes left in the second and held on from there to secure the win.

Paige Wilson was in goal for Thunder Bay in that match-up.

The Manshield bantam A Queens next tourney will be the Harbor Center Cup, Feb. 27 through March 1 in Buffalo, N.Y.
