Healthy Together Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences CentreTHUNDER BAY – LIVING – As the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) develops its new Strategic Plan, we want to hear from you. Input from dedicated community members built our last strategic plan, one that resulted in extraordinary advances in healthcare in our region.

Your input is vital to the development of our Strategic Plan 2020 – a blueprint that will guide activities and decision-making at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for the next 5 years. The Strategic Plan 2020 will outline where we’re going as an academic health sciences centre, and how we’ll get there.

Become a 5 Partner Representative

Another way to help shape your healthcare is by becoming a “5 Partner” representative.

TBRHSC’s engagement activities are based on Dr. Charles Boelen’s “5 Partners” model of engaging: health professionals, health managers, policy makers, academic institutions, and community members. These group meets to agree on what is most important for everyone regarding healthcare. This collaboration helps TBRHSC to determine how it can deliver the best care for patients and families.

“It is vital to include individuals from the community who bring their perspective to the table, as our hospital belongs to the community,” says Andrée Robichaud, President and Chief Executive Officer, TBRHSC, and Acting Chief Executive Officer, Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute.

At the initial meeting, we will present the new strategic directions of our 2020 Strategic Plan and the rationale behind their development. We will then discuss the results of engagement with several focus groups. 5 Partner members will participate in wide-ranging, small-group discussions to identify and prioritize the goals associated with those strategic directions that will shape the strategic plan.

At the end of the focus group phase, we will reconvene the 5 Partners Group to validate and finalize our strategic goals for the next five years.

Your commitment as a 5 Partner community representative would involve participation on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm
  • Annually – one half-day to provide input on our Strategic Plan progress.

Please consider this invitation and RSVP by Monday, February 9, 2015 to Linda Lindsey at (807) 684-6010 or lindseyl@tbh.net.

TBRHSC is your hospital. By working together, we can ensure that the care provided meets the needs of this community.
