OPP End Manhunt with Death of Suspect

MARATHON – The OPP manhunt for a suspect in a domestic situation in Marathon is over. Last night, the Ontario Provincial Police found the body of a twenty-six year old man, Bobby Charbonneau who police had been seeking since August 31st.

Charbonneau died, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The OPP had been seeking Charbonneau over the past several days, and local residents had been told to stay in their homes, and to keep their doors locked.

The search included OPP units from the eastern and western districts, including the OPP canine unit which was brought in for the search.A post-mortem examination of the deceased has been scheduled.
