Weather Alert in Effect

THUNDER BAY – Rain is still in the forecast. For many in Thunder Bay, having significant rainfall on the anniversary of the flood generates concern.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Significant rain continues this morning.

Showers continue as a front remains nearly stationary over the area. Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 35 mm are expected before the showers taper off near midday. Locally higher amounts may be possible due to thunderstorms.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Beardmore – Jellicoe – Macdiarmid
  • Gull Bay – Black Sturgeon Lake

Rainfall – early morning to afternoon.

Rain, at times heavy, continues.

Showers continue as a front remains nearly stationary over the area. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 60 mm are expected before the showers taper off near midday. Locally higher amounts may be possible due to thunderstorms.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
