“Commander Chris Hadfield’s mission to the International Space Station made for an amazing journey in my classroom from science, to literacy to music and social media,” stated Kelly Green a Grade Six teacher at Ogden Community School. “It made for a great teaching year. Our students will be so excited to see him in June”.

Colonel Hadfield will spend time in the city with students from both the Lakehead Public Schools and Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board.

More than 1500 students will attend the event live at the community auditorium.

Many more will be able to tune in online on NetNewsLedger.com to watch the event as it happens.

There will be two public events where Colonel Hadfield will be engaging with the public, the first during the day for students.

The second event open to the general public will be in the evening.

Leadership Thunder Bay’s Kristen Oliver says that this is a very highly anticipated event for Leadership Thunder Bay.

“I think we are every bit as excited about this event as the students in our community. Colonel Hadfield is a national treasure, and it is going to be a thrill to welcome him to Thunder Bay.
