Thunder Bay QueensHAMILTON – Bronwyn Bolduc had a goal and an assist to help lead the Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens to a narrow 2-1 victory over the Whitby Wolves Sunday morning in quarter-final play at the Stoney Creek Sabres Showcase tournament in Hamilton.

Bolduc notched an unassisted tally to get the Queens on the board then set-up Samantha Stassburger for the game-winner. Farrah Nichol also assisted on the second marker.

Katie Mikkelson had the lone Whitby tally.

Shots on goal in the contest favoured the victors by a 19-13 margin with Sydney Isbell picking up the win in net.

Thunder Bay will now meet a strong Shaftesbury Titans prep school out of Winnipeg in one semifinal, which gets underway at 1:15 p.m.

Whichever team comes out on top there will advance to the championship game at 4:45 p.m. taking on the winner of the other semifinal between the Chicago Mission and Winnipeg’s St. Mary’s Academy Flames.
