THUNDER BAY – Sports – The Thunder Bay Lakers (10U) team traveled to the Art Von Tournament in Duluth, MN this past weekend and finished 4-1 and won the Consolation Championship.

Ashland 1
Will Droll picks up the win tossing 3 scoreless innings and striking out 9 and limiting Ashland to 2 hits. Ethan Willmore earned the save tossing the final 3 innings. Easton Adams, Ewan Menard, Jack Pineau and Willmore provided the Lakers with their offense with each player going 1-2 respectively.
Game 2

Eastern Duluth 13
Alex Pineau was 2-2 in the losing effort to the eventual tournament champion Eastern Duluth team.
Game 3

Hermantown Hawks 4
Jack Pineau tossed the final 3 innings picking up the save, while Will Droll picked up the win on the hill. Alex Pineau smashed a grand slam and was 3-3 at the plate collecting 6 rbi to pace the offense. Alex Atwill, Ewan Menard and Droll all added 2 hits apiece.

Will Droll once again picked up the win for the Lakers tossing the first 3 innings and not allowing a run, while striking out 4. Ethan Willmore notched another save pitching the final inning. The offense was led by Alex Pineau who was 2-2 with 2 rbi, with Austin Hart (1-2, 1 rbi) Alex Atwill (1-2, 2 rbi) and Ewan Menard (1-2, 1 rbi).

Seven Runs in Explosive 5th Inning
In the Consolation Championship game the Lakers erupted for 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th to blow the game open and win 10-2. Ethan Willmore picked up the win for the Lakers tossing 4 innings and allowing 1 run and striking out 7. Easton Adams picked up the save pitching the final 2 innings. Will Droll and Alex Pineau paced the Laker’s offense collecting 3 hits apiece, while Alex Atwill (2-4, 2 rbi), Ewan Menard (2-3, 2rbi), Austin Hart (1-2, 2 rbi) and Adams (2-3, 1rbi).
