THUNDER BAY – United Way’s Great Billboard Rescue kicked off on Thursday March 21st.  This year the fundraiser is proudly presented by Investors Group and Lowerys. After Thursday’s launch, over 30 teams will begin calling, texting and emailing their contacts for pledges to “rescue” them down from the scissor lift at the May 16th event which will be held at the new Lowerys building.

United Way’s Great Billboard Rescue

We all share a common goal with United Way, to improve lives, invest in our community and create a better tomorrow for our neighbours, family, friends and co-workers. Each year the funds raised for United Way are carefully and strategically deployed across Thunder Bay, assisting  local organizations that provide vital health and human care programs for those in need.

In addition to funding programs, United Way works to engage and mobilize the community, address underlying causes to community issues, strengthen the capacity of community networks, and work collaboratively to change and improve the quality of life where we live and work.

Great Billboard Rescue is a fun and easy way to help you community. Billboard participants and donors will give help and hope to thousands of local people. Please support our Billboard Rescue Teams when they contact you, you can even make a pledge quickly and securely online at unitedway-tbay.on.ca.  Remember that every dollar raised stays in our community!

ReMax Realty will also be hosting a BBQ at the event site from 11:30-2:00. All proceeds will go to the United Way.

Be sure to stop by to cheer on the participants and enjoy a hot burger!
