Thunder Bay QueensTHUNDER BAY – SPORTS – Thunder Bay Queens head to Winnipeg. Both the Thunder Bay Triad Contracting peewee and Hank the Tank Welding bantam A Queens will be in Winnipeg this weekend to compete in the 14th annual Stars Cup girls’ hockey tournament.

A total of six teams, including Thunder Bay, will be competing in the peewee AA division with game action for the Queens opening up Friday at 8:15 p.m. CT vs. the Winnipeg East Saints.

Two more match-ups will conclude round robin competition for the club on Saturday as they take on the Winnipeg Titans at 11:45 a.m. CT before a 5:30 p.m. CT contest against the Fort Frances Flames.

As for the bantam A Queens, they will meet the Winnipeg Wings at 7:15 p.m. CT Friday to get their portion of the tourney underway in a five-team division.

Next up is an 11:45 a.m. CT encounter with the Transcona Stars Saturday followed by a 3:30 p.m. CT face-off against the Morden Hawks.

They will then finish up round robin competition Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. CT vs. the Dryden Sunset Granite Snipers.
 
Consolation and medal round games will be played later in the day on Sunday.
