THUNDER BAY – Sports – Jett Mintenko – At only 8 years old, young hockey superstar Jett Mintenko, number 17, of the KC Canucks, is one kid to watch. This young man has over 100 goals this season and has helped lead his team to a record of 23 wins and only 1 loss.

Jett can skate, pass and put the puck in the net with a skill level far beyond his years, he is amazing to watch.

In Saturdays game against the Elk’s Jets, Mintenko scored five goals, helping to lead the team to victory in a game where the scoreboard isn’t the point.

Head Coach, Dan Konopski, of the KC Canucks, who is in his 23rd year of coaching said that the point of Novice division is to “work hard in practice, focus on individual skills and help everybody get better as a team.”

With another possible 30 games left in the season it is possible that young Mintenko will improve even more. He not only plays as offense but is able to play defense as well, although his favorite position is Centre.

His goal is to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins with his favorite player the famous Canadian Sydney Crosby.
