D' Culture ShockTHUNDER BAY – There is a new, spicy and exciting restaurant joining Thunder Bay’s growing range of tastes and enjoyment. D’ Culture Shock Restaurant is going to ‘spice up’ the local restaurant scene.

You are invited to join Ronald Ugorji for the Grand Opening of the D’ Culture Shock Restaurant, 843 Red River Road  next to Little Caesar’s Pizza. The Grand Opening will happen on Saturday, December 22nd from 12 noon until 2PM. You can stop by and sample the cuisine.

The  D’ Culture Shock Restaurant menu is meant to give a “Disorientation of your Taste Buds” with their traditional Nigerian, Caribbean and Sri Lankan cuisine, all a nice blend of spices.

There is something for the vegetarians too. 

Ronald Ugorji shares, “We’re bringing a different cultural experience to Thunder Bay , the flavor of my home country, Nigeria with a mix of cuisines I felt Thunder Bay would enjoy. My hopes for this establishment would be to bring my daughter a sense of connection and pride in her heritage and culture”.

Michelle Lander comments, “As the Local Immigration Partnership Coordinator and a member of Afro Caribbean community, it is nice to see the retention of university and college graduates into the community.

Ronald is a Lakehead University graduate in Political Science and Economic.  Sous Chefs Yasas Weerasingha will graduate from Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Confederation College, and Dyki Nwosah graduated with Political Science -Pre Law with a minor in economics”.

Lander continued, “It good to see young professionals put down roots and plan to raise their families here in Thunder Bay.”

“For that I say congratulation to the boys of D’ Culture Shock Restaurant, we are proud of these young men and wish them luck in their new venture,” concluded Lander.
