The Sleeping GiantTHUNDER BAY – The wealth of talent in Northern and Northwestern Ontario in music, video and arts is enormous. On April 28th, Music and Film in Motion (MFM) will celebrate the ninth annual Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards. Ten ten Northern artists will be presented with awards for excellence in music and film.

A number of Northwestern Ontario talents are nominated. This year, submissions came in from communities across the North including; Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins, Espanola, Naughton, Atikoken and Elliot Lake.

For each category, the nominees were selected by a panel of prominent music and film industry professionals. The winner for each category will be announced at the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards ceremony to be held on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 in the Great Hall at Laurentian University.
