ThunderwolvesTHUNDER BAY -Sports – The Lakehead women’s basketball team will play three games this weekend against competition from British Columbia. Coach Jon Kreiner continues to use the most of his exhibition season, and hopes this weekend against a tough field of teams will help solidify his rotation as the Thunderwolves near the beginning of the regular season.

“These will be 3 very tough games against 3 very good BC teams. We will be a little shorthanded with Ashley Randall still out of the line up and Lacey McNulty only playing 2 games limited minutes but this will provide a great experience for our young team. UVIC is also young and has a great guard rotation. They will be looking to pressure and push in transition. UBC is in their senior cycle and will be challenging for top spot out West. They are very big and have great experience. Fraser Valley has a mix of veteran and freshmen players but they may be the toughest team in BC. Fraser Valley can really shoot it and play an up tempo game. With six games remaining before league play, this will be a great opportunity to see where we’ve improved and what we still need to work on”.

Their schedule is as follows:

Game 1 Friday 7:00 @ UVIC
Game 2 Saturday 7:00 @ UBC
Game 3 Sunday 3:00 @ Fraser Valley
