THUNDER BAY – There are many innovative and exciting young people in Thunder Bay and across Northwestern Ontario. SHIFT Thunder Bay’s Young Professional Network and the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce are looking for your nominations for the top twenty individuals in our region under the age of forty.
The Northwestern Ontario Visionary Awards (NOVA Awards) will be awarded to those individuals. You can nominate a Young Professional in the region, under the age of 40, who has done great things for their community, organization, or their employer.
The deadline for nominations is October 15th 2011.
SHIFT President, Nathan Lawrence shares, “Northwestern Ontario is full of great talent and now is the time to recognize those who make a difference in our communities. The NOVA’s will allow our region to highlight and celebrate the successes of Young Professionals under the age of 40. If you know someone that you feel is deserving of a NOVA, please take a few minutes to nominate them.”
Thunder Bay Chamber Chair of the Board, Michael Nitz says “The Chamber is extremely excited to partner with SHIFT to recognize young business people across our region for the NOVA awards. These awards will reward individuals under 40 years of age who have achieved success while displaying strong leadership skills and contributing to their communities”.
Nominations can be made for any individual who fits the criteria. Judges from Thunder Bay and region will be reviewing all nominations and making their selections based on a variety of criteria such as professional achievements, leadership initiatives and, community involvement.
The Awards Celebration will take place January 21, 2012 at Fort William Historical Park sponsored by Tbaytel.
