Impaired Driver Charged with Dangerous Driving and Assault with a Weapon

crimebeat Thunder BayTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision after a vehicle struck a tree in the 300 block of Marion Street at 3:35AM on Saturday morning. When officers arrived on the scene, a twenty-three year old male driver of the vehicle was determined by Officers to have been drinking at a house party on Marion Street.

Police report, “During further investigation officers found that the driver had been involved in an altercation at the party. The driver after leaving the residence tried to run down two persons who were walking down the sidewalk that he had the altercation within the residence”.

The two pedestrians were fortunate enough to be able to get out of the way of the oncoming vehicle which then struck a tree while being driven on the sidewalk.

The unnamed driver of the vehicle has been charged with Dangerous Driving, and Assault with a Weapon.
