Thunder Bay Police may have suspect in custody

breaking newsTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Reports are coming into NNL this morning that the suspect in the robbery of a 90-year-old woman in downtown Thunder Bay North has been arrested by police. There are no official confirmations from the Thunder Bay Police Service as of yet.

The attack and robbery happened at approximately 6:55PM on September 2nd. The victim had parked her car in the Park Avenue parking lot across from the casino. She paused briefly after exiting her vehicle at which point a Native Canadian male grabbed her black purse. A struggle ensued and the victim fell to the ground. The suspect was able to grab the purse and fled the scene on foot.

The incident has generated a great deal of discussion in Thunder Bay on social networks about how to make our community safer.
