Top of Lake SuperiorNIPIGON – The Land of Nipigon Chamber of Commerce has always had a problem with the perception that this was the “Nipigon” Chamber of Commerce. We have finally decided to try to correct this by changing the name to Top of Lake Superior Chamber of Commerce.

Right now, the Chamber is struggling to remain alive because of a lack of members and volunteers. We really do need more members who would like to work together to perhaps rebuild the chamber so that it can once more be a vibrant and healthy organization representing businesses in the area and promoting Economic and Social development and well being for all our communities.

With this in mind, I would urge you to seriously consider attending our annual meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 23rd as per the attached invitation. It will be held at the Red Rock Inn this year.

To be viable, the chamber really does need commitment from a significant sector of our community. The chamber is not only open to businesses but to individuals as well.

This last year, we have hired an intern and have worked very hard trying to encourage more tourists to visit our area by getting local businesses to partner and provide packages to customers. It is impossible to see how much effect our efforts will have until a few seasons have passed, but this in just one way the chamber is attempting to improve our communities.

Please do give Lynn a call at the Chamber Office or send her an email. Would surely like to see you on the 23rd.

Marvin Broughton
