Eat Local PizzaTHUNDER BAY – Anyone who believes that Thunder Bay doesn’t have many people with a big heart, just isn’t fully aware of all the good people in our city.

Jim Stadey, the owner of Eat Local Pizza and Pastry says, “The other day one of the schools that we regularly deal with called us. They asked for just 1 pizza for lunch on a day that was not their regular pizza day. I was interested so I went to drop off the pizza and see what they were up to. I found that the school staff pooled money to provide a lunch for kids who for various reasons did not have one. I was touched and offered the pizza for free”.

“Since then I have started offering 1 free pizza a week to schools who are looking after the kids who do not have a lunch,” continues Stadey.

“I am so impressed at the lengths the teachers and support staff of the schools of Thunder Bay go to ensure that kids do not go hungry. I hope that I can do my part, and I hope other local businesses will help out as well”.

If you work in a school in Thunder Bay and you want to chat about getting a free pizza a week to help feed kids without lunches, you can call Jim Stadey at 627-1865.

Until that point maybe we can get some other people on board and take some of the weight off of the teachers and support staff at our schools. I am so proud of them and hope I can help out,” states Stadey.
