NAPS Nabs Drugs and Arrests Woman in Fort Severn

FORT SEVERN – On July 27, 2017, Nishnawbe Aski Police members at the Fort Severn Detachment charged a local woman with offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances act.

Police attended at the Fort Severn airport and subsequently seized the following types of drugs: Methylphenidate and Buprenorphine, commonly known as Ritalin and Suboxone, which have a combined northern street value of approximately five thousand seven hundred sixty-five ($5,765.00) dollars.

Thirty-three (33) year-old Veronica THOMAS of Fort Severn First Nation has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

THOMAS has been released on conditions and will next appear in court in Fort Severn on November 6, 2017.


Fort Severn First Nation is located approximately 16 km west of Hudson Bay, 850 km north of Thunder Bay and 770 kilometres northwest of Moosonee.
