Greens Making Strides for Next Election

(OTTAWA) – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands, will announce the appointment of a distinguished environmentalist as a Green Party Deputy Leader at a press conference in Ottawa.

Under the Green Party constitution, the Leader can appoint two Deputy Leaders.

Bruce Hyer, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay – Superior North will participate in the press conference.  Mr. Hyer was named Deputy Leader by Ms. May on Jan. 27, 2014.

The Green Party is polling in the province of British Columbia to a point where the party is expecting to pick up more seats in the next federal election.
