THUNDER BAY – AVIATION – North Star Air announced today that the company has connected Kasabonika Lake First Nation to their growing Flex Flight network that serves Northern Ontario First Nation communities. The new services will connect Thunder Bay, Kasabonika Lake, Neskantaga and Webequie.

The new service will be effective October 15th, 2016, when North Star Air will be offering a 6 day a week service; Monday to Friday, and Sunday.

This new addition will continue to provide people, businesses, and communities more travel options at stable fares.

Kasabonika Lake passengers will now enjoy North Star Air’s focused excellence in providing the best possible customer experience. All flights will be flown on their Pilatus PC-12 aircraft which has gained a reputation for outstanding versatility, performance, reliability and operational flexibility. This aircraft is one of the most popular turbine-powered aircraft sold on the market today. Their fleet also includes the Basler BT-67 Turbine and Cessna Grand Caravan to meet the needs for passenger, charter, cargo and fuel services.

Today North Star Air’s passenger Flex Flight network serves 18 destinations in Northern Ontario where 80% of those destinations are First Nation communities. North Star Air is a financially sound and successful airline that to-date has contributed over one million dollars back to partner communities through its revenue sharing program.

The registered population as of September, 2016 was 1,156. It is part of the Shibogama First Nations Council and the Nishnawbe Aski Nation.
