Crash Involved Tractor Trailer and Pickup Truck
OPASATIKA, ON — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Kapuskasing are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision involving a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle that resulted in three deaths.
Police say the crash occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., on Highway 11 between Chauvette Road and Hyundai Road in Opasatika Township.
Four People in Pickup; Three Pronounced Deceased
OPP report the pickup truck was occupied by four people. The 41-year-old driver was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the three remaining occupants of the pickup — a 41-year-old, a 15-year-old, and a 12-year-old — were pronounced deceased at the scene. No injuries were reported for the driver of the tractor trailer.
OPP, Coroner, and Collision Investigators Assisting
The OPP say they are working alongside the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Unit and OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI). The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
