August 12, 2025 – The City of Thunder Bay is advising the public that a section of Onion Lake Road will be closed to allow for the replacement of the culvert at the intersection of Onion Lake Road and Lancaster Avenue.
The closure will begin Wednesday, August 13, and will remain in place until work is complete. During this time, Onion Lake Road will be open to local traffic only from Wardrope Avenue to 375 Onion Lake Road.
A posted detour route will be in effect at Belton Street. Motorists are asked to follow posted signage and to allow extra travel time.
