Thunder Bay – News – On the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2025, Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response officers were dispatched to the intersection of Francis Street and Ford Street after a 9-1-1 caller reported a man unresponsive at the wheel of a running vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle parked curb-side, with the engine running, and the 32-year-old male suspect unconscious behind the wheel.
After rousing him, police officers observed clear signs of impairment. The suspect was arrested on-scene.
During a subsequent search, police uncovered a quantity of suspected cocaine, cash and drug-trafficking paraphernalia.

Mitchell Charlie appeared in Thunder Bay court on Friday, July 18, 2025. He was remanded into custody and will return to court on a later date to answer all charges. All accused are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
