Missouri Thunder Ride Hot Streak to Six Straight Wins at PBR Gambler Days

AUSTIN, Texas — Hang onto your hats, PBR fans — the Missouri Thunder are riding one serious hot streak.

Missouri completed a second consecutive perfect weekend Sunday at Gambler Days presented by Tecovas, thundering past the Arizona Ridge Riders 268.05-86.6 at Moody Center to stretch its winning streak to six straight games.

With another 3-0 weekend in the books, Missouri improved to 9-5 and moved into second place in the PBR Teams standings, just one game behind the league-leading Nashville Stampede at 10-4. The Carolina Cowboys also improved to 9-5 after handing the hometown Austin Gamblers a decisive loss in Sunday’s finale.

Missouri Thunder Keep the Bulls Covered and the Wins Coming

When the chute gates cracked open Sunday afternoon, Missouri wasted no time getting to work.

Paulo Eduardo Rossetto of Colorado, Brazil, climbed aboard Max Bet and delivered 88.75 points to put the Thunder on the board.

That ride carried some extra weight. It was Rossetto’s seventh consecutive qualified ride and completed his second straight perfect 3-for-3 weekend.

Arizona answered immediately.

Everton Natan da Silva of Brazil matched up with Rock ‘n Roll for 86.6 points, keeping the Ridge Riders within striking distance.

But Missouri wasn’t about to let this one get away.

Marques Extends the Lead

In the third frame, Julio Cesar Marques of Tatuí, Brazil, climbed aboard Spade and turned in a strong 89.45-point ride.

That put another bull on the board for Missouri and widened the gap.

Then it came down to Maverick Smith of Cabool, Mo.

Smith had the chance to slam the gate shut — and that’s exactly what he did.

Matched with Easy Come, Easy Go, Smith rode for 89.85 points, clinching the game and completing his own perfect 3-for-3 weekend.

Three qualified rides for Missouri. One for Arizona.

And just like that, the Thunder rolled out of Austin with another undefeated weekend.

New York Mavericks Find Their Spur

Don’t look now, but the New York Mavericks may have found some momentum.

After snapping a six-game losing streak Saturday, New York came right back Sunday and knocked off the Kansas City Outlaws 267.4-89.2.

Mauricio Gulla Moreira set the tone right out of the gate.

Moreira teamed with Black Eyes for a huge 90.75-point ride in the opening frame.

Kansas City’s Koltin Hevalow answered in the second with 89.2 points aboard Dirty Honey.

But New York fired right back.

Leandro Zampollo covered The Heat for 88.95 points, and with the outcome already secured, 2026 PBR Rookie of the Year Marco Rizzo added 87.7 points aboard El Chapo.

New York went 3-for-5 and finished its Austin weekend at 2-1.

For a club sitting at 3-11, two straight victories provide something every struggling team needs — momentum.

Florida Freedom Knock Off League-Leading Nashville

The Nashville Stampede came into Sunday sitting on top of the standings, but the Florida Freedom weren’t interested in simply admiring the view.

Florida covered its first three bulls and rode away with a 267.2-179.2 victory.

Austin Richardson opened with 89.25 points aboard Ratchet Strap.

Alex Cerqueira followed with 87.05 points on Husky.

Then João Lucas Campos brought the crowd to attention.

Campos matched Cookie jump for jump and earned 90.9 points, the highest rider score of the game.

Nashville had two strong rides of its own.

Alan de Souza covered Freedom Fighter for 90.7 points, while Riquelmi Silva added 88.5 points aboard OptiWize Mercy.

But two bulls weren’t enough.

Nashville leaves Austin at 10-4 after a 1-2 weekend, and suddenly there’s traffic piling up behind the Stampede at the top of the standings.

Wildcatters Close Austin With a Win

The Oklahoma Wildcatters found the win column Sunday, defeating the Texas Rattlers 178.75-88.5.

Texas struck first when Daniel Keeping covered Game Over for 88.5 points.

Oklahoma answered through Trace Redd, who took advantage of a re-ride opportunity and posted 89.05 points aboard Take Down.

Then came Eduardo Matos in the fifth frame.

Matos covered Flyin’ Solo for 89.7 points, putting Oklahoma a full bull ahead and securing the victory.

The Wildcatters improved to 5-9, while Texas slipped to an even 7-7.

Carolina Cowboys Come Out Firing

If there was one team that kicked open the arena doors Sunday afternoon, it was Carolina.

The Cowboys covered their first four bulls and overwhelmed the host Austin Gamblers 346.85-175.65.

Thiago Salgado opened the show with a massive 90.8-point ride on Baylor’s Bandit.

Guilherme Valleiras followed with 87.25 points aboard Pale Face.

Then came one of the day’s best comeback moments.

Clay Guiton, who had endured a difficult return following an injury in February, earned his first qualified ride of the season, scoring 87.45 points on Outlaw.

Keyshawn Whitehorse added 81.35 points on Ransom.

Four bulls covered.

Four scores on the board.

And by then, the Cowboys were riding away with it.

<H3>Leme Keeps Charging in the MVP Race</H3>

Austin couldn’t match Carolina’s depth, but three-time PBR World Champion Jose Vitor Leme continued his remarkable individual run.

Leme rode Mayor of Hogeye for 88.75 points, extending his streak to nine consecutive bulls without a buckoff.

Dener Barbosa added Austin’s other qualified ride, scoring 86.9 points aboard J Lazy S.

Leme remains the rider everybody is chasing in the PBR Teams MVP race.

He has accumulated 1,063.2 points across 12 qualified rides this season and leads Missouri’s Rossetto by 92.1 points.

That’s not just consistency.

That’s a cowboy sitting squarely in the middle of an MVP charge.

Wicked Intentions Wins the Bull Battle

And folks, we can’t leave Austin without tipping a hat to the bovine athletes.

Wicked Intentions delivered the top bull performance of Gambler Days with a massive 46.25-point bull score.

That wasn’t just the best bull score of the weekend.

It was the highest bull score of the entire 2026 PBR Teams season to date.

Vitor Manoel Dias drew Wicked Intentions in Missouri’s matchup with Arizona and lasted just 1.48 seconds.

Sometimes the cowboy wins.

Sometimes the bull makes very sure everybody remembers his name.

PBR Teams Standings Tighten Up

After Sunday’s action in Austin, Nashville still holds the top spot, but Missouri and Carolina are both breathing down the Stampede’s neck.

The riders and bulls now get a weekend away from team competition before the gates swing open again.

PBR Teams returns Sept. 4-6 for Bass Pro Shops PBR Thunder Days presented by DoorDash at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Mo.

And that sets up one mighty interesting homecoming.

Missouri arrives riding six straight wins, sitting second in the league and charging hard at first-place Nashville.

The Thunder are rolling.

The Cowboys are closing.

The Stampede still holds the lead.

And with the season moving deeper into the stretch run, every eight-second ride is starting to carry a whole lot more weight.
