(Dryden, ON) – The Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising the public of an increased police presence in the area of Thunder Lake Road due to an ongoing investigation involving a barricaded individual.
On Monday, May 25, 2026, shortly after 8 a.m. CT, members of the Dryden OPP, with assistance from the North West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Crisis Negotiators, responded to a residence on Thunder Lake Road in Dryden following a report of a break and enter that turned into a barricaded person.
Residents can expect to see an increase in police presence in the area.
There is no threat to public safety; however, motorists and nearby residents are asked to avoid the area while the investigation is underway.
