Thunder Bay Police Seek Public Help Locating Missing 71-Year-Old Peter Elchuk
THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay police are asking for the public’s help to locate 71-year-old Peter Elchuk, who was last seen Tuesday afternoon in the Dawson Road area. Police say Elchuk lives with dementia and there is concern for his well-being.
Last Seen Near Dawson Road
Peter Elchuk was last seen on May 19, 2026, at about 5 p.m. in the area of Dawson Road.
Police describe Elchuk as a Caucasian man, about 5-foot-7, with grey hair and a grey goatee.
He was last seen wearing dark grey jeans and a black jean jacket.
Residents Asked To Check Properties And Camera Footage
Police and family members are asking residents in the Dawson Road area and surrounding neighbourhoods to check their properties, sheds, garages, vehicles and any available surveillance or doorbell camera footage for possible signs of Elchuk.
Anyone who may have seen him, or who has information that could assist police, is asked to come forward.
