Thunder Bay Police Investigate Reported Assault in Boulevard Lake Area

THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police Service officers are investigating a reported assault in the Boulevard Lake area after responding to a call Thursday morning.

Police say the suspect has not yet been located and the investigation remains ongoing.

Community members using recreational trails in the area are being urged to use caution while officers continue patrols and work to identify the individual involved.

Suspect Description Released by Police

The suspect may be wearing a yellow, orange and white plaid jacket.

Police describe the individual as light-skinned, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, with grey in his hair and an unkempt appearance.

Anyone who sees a person matching the description is advised not to approach and to contact police.

Trail Users Urged to Take Precautions

Police are encouraging residents using trails and recreational spaces near Boulevard Lake to take basic personal safety precautions.

Residents are advised to walk with another person whenever possible, avoid wearing headphones or earbuds that block surrounding sounds, remain aware of their surroundings and stay clear of dark, isolated or enclosed areas.

The Boulevard Lake area is one of Thunder Bay’s most-used recreation spaces, with walking trails, green space and waterfront access. Police presence in the area is continuing while the investigation moves forward.
