KENORA PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY FOR HUNTING FOLLOWING COLLISION

KENORA, ON – REGIONAL NEWS – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to advise the public about safety concerns of hunting in the area around Highway 17 and Inglis Lake Road following a recent collision.

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m. CST, a commercial motor vehicle collision caused cattle to break free from their trailer. There is a plan in place to safely remove the remaining cattle from the area.

In the interest of public safety and the safety of the removal team, Kenora OPP is asking to refrain from hunting. Hunting the cattle may result in charges under the Trespass to Property Act as well as Criminal Code charges such as discharging a firearm recklessly, careless use of a firearm, and theft.
